OVERVIEW

The task was to redesign the interface between the two views. At the product level, we wanted to improve the ease of use and conform to the company's existing design system; at the customer level, we wanted to improve the experience of old users and reduce the learning and time costs for new users.

After a few years of development, YOOV PLUS intends to readjust its development strategy as the number of users rises. With this opportunity, we hope to improve our products to enhance customer satisfaction and conversion rate, while conforming to the brand image and improving the overall.

Problem

The customer satisfaction rate was very low.

  • The functions of the product were poorly conveyed. Its convenience and importance were poorly presented, and because of this, it did not stand out from the competition.
  • A confusing layout and structure of the information did not help the user understand how the product actually works.
  • The design does not fit the current brand image, and the colors and icons lack consistency.

How did we solve it

I conduct existing product and competitor analysis to identify user pain points and design pitfalls. This helps us to improve the product and thus increase the conversion rate in the process.

I organized the information and functions in a structured, coherent way to help users understand better how the platform works.

In accordance with the rules of the design system, I redesigned the interface and some of the icons to improve the integrity and inspire people's trust in the product.

Competitor analysis

I analyzed the UI and view creation process of mainstream platforms to learn and draw important conclusions from it. The process of creating a new view should be simple and fast, without making the user enter a lot of data, and proper graphics are a plus.

Pain Point

It is very important to define the pain points that appeared while using the old design. We definitely can improve the interface when the correct root of pain is found.

"I am the user"

Before beginning to design a product, it's reasonable to define the groups of potential users with different wants, needs and goals. This is not a clear prediction of user behaviour, but it helps to understand potential moves and thinking of real users. As practice shows, some important aspects can be hidden if this approach is not carried out.

  • How did we feel as end users of the product we were designing?
  • Can I reach out my goals with it?
  • Is this a productive tool for me? Am I understand how to work in it?

Design
Solutions

High-fidelity wireframes were crafted based on comprehensive UX research to achieve optimum usability. We put focus on effectiveness, visual clarity, efficiency, consistency, and intuitiveness. During the wireframing stage, we conducted several User testing sessions to validate our design solutions.

Data views - Gantt

Adjust the proportion of the timeline to make it more conspicuous and clear, so that users can view and focus more easily; adjust the display of grouping to make the group data easier to be distinguished; add folding function to record list to make it more convenient for users

Dependency

Add the new feature of dependency field, user can visualize these dependent relationships between different tasks with arrows (called dependencies) connecting the different bars in the Gantt chart.

Rescheduling record

To change the duration of a record, user can lengthen or shorten a record by clicking and dragging on it's left or right edges. User can also adjust the dates that a record begins and ends (without changing its duration) by clicking and dragging the bar earlier or later on the timeline.

Document template

After studying and analyzing, I selected the necessary functions as the basis, and the pages combine the advantages of word and artboard to provide unlimited page editing functions, and the output file formats provide word and PDF.

Project Takeaways

Preliminary preparation will make the follow-up smoother, through sufficient research to understand and analyze the characteristics of no-code, which will help me to design.

Focus on the problem

As a designer, I must always remember the ‘why’. The primary goal is to understand the user, their problems and then come up with a design that solves it.
